Meeting Minutes 22 February 2003 held at the Darby
Center
Introduction of officers and board members
Dick Johnston gave a brief history of Leatherwood
Property.
Endurance Ride - Abbie announced that the
endurance ride would take place the weekend of March
29th and that the volunteer meeting would be that
Friday, March 28th at 6 p.m. Dinner will be provided for
the volunteers and a pre-ride briefing will take place.
Rentals - Sue Bridgers. We now have 38 houses on
the rental program and there will be 41 by the end of
March. "Last minute special" rentals are now being made
for two night stays.
Horse rentals are available from Jim and Jean
Robinson at Mountain View Stables.
Keys Cabin. Keeping it standing and safe.
Fire Concerns. Suggestion was made to put the
escape routes and maps on our website. Dick Johnston
agreed.
Recreation. A workday will be set so that the
cabin can be sealed. It was mentioned that there are
fish in the lake - sunfish, bass - and that you can fish
with corn or worms.
Roads. Huffman Brothers will be coming out in
April. John Single had questions about the mudslide on
Elk Ridge. Ed Harrison will be coming out to assess.
Preliminary plans are to cut into hillside to provide
more room for more of the road.
Dues. A motion was made to raise the dues -
Improved lots to raise $200 - Unimproved lots to raise
$100. Motion was seconded. Discussion. Vote was
unanimous. Dues for 2003 will be: Improved lots =
$700.00 per year and Unimproved lots = $350.00 per year.
Security. A motion was made to drop the security
guard and put those funds into the road funds. Motion
was seconded. Discussion. Vote was unanimously in favor
of dropping the security guard and placing funds toward
the roads.
Construction Fee. A motion was made to raise the
construction fee from $500 to $1,000. Amendment to the
motion was made to raise construction fee from $500 to
$1,000 for new construction of a dwelling. Vote was
passed. Five opposed.
Nominations of board members. Nominations from
the floor were made: John Single, Russ Simmons, Cindy
Rywak, and Paul Ertel. Voted to the board were: Russ
Simmons - President, John Single, and Paul Ertel.
