Meeting Called to Order - Russ
POA Members Comment The Robinson's were present
at the meeting. Mr. Robinson stated his concerns about
the horse trails in the Meadow. There are deep mud holes
and deep ruts with pockets of water. His concern is how
to drain water from those areas. Mr. Robinson said that
he would like to help with the areas of concern and
would help in the discussion of how to address the water
drainage in those areas.
It was also discussed that plowing the rental driveways
should be communicated to staff and that the driveways
should be cleared by POA. It was communicated back to
Mr. Robinson that that communication does exist at this
time and every effort is made to clear the rental
driveways.
Keys Cabin - Dave has come up with a plan that
would help to make the Keys Cabin safer. He will be
getting a materials list on the items that will be
needed to minimally fix the cabin. It will be kept
secure with a lock and hasp. He needs about $1,000 for
the materials and has 2 or 3 volunteers to help with the
work. He may be able to get donations of materials.
Fire Concerns - Russ. We are still moving forward
with the escape routes. We have had a few meetings with
the forest service. It has been determined that the
escapes routes out Wagon Ridge or West Ridge are both
passable by most pick-ups. Another escape route that was
discussed was driving a pick-up out Daniel Boone Trail
to escape out to the bottom via Elk Ridge or also to go
to end of Elk Ridge and go out behind the Jurand's.
Trails - Eileen Abbie has set the weekend before
the endurance ride for Trail Clean-up day.
Recreation - Delaine. The log cabin needs to be
sealed. Delaine has already purchased the materials for
that. There is $1,000 still in the budget for this.
Pool furniture is going to be bought. It has been
determined that 5 chairs, 5 lounges, 5 tables are needed
at the pool.
During K-Mart's closeout days many sports items were
purchased. (Basketball, Frisbee, rackets, floats and
miscellaneous lawn toys.)
The Tennis Courts were sealed in the spring of 2002.
Dave Bridgers stated that the lighting on the courts
needs some attention and that he would check that out.
Raymond Hansmann has always stocked the lake with fish.
We have decided that we must continue to maintain that
part and to have the lake stocked. Sources will be
researched. It was also stated that the mosquitoes are
very bad at the Lake. There is also a tree down in the
Lake and it will be removed by the POA.
Security - The camera is working. The recorder
had some problems but they have been fixed and it is now
working. It was discussed that the lighting in the
foosball room is bad. That will be addressed at a later
time.
It was also discussed to change the POA gate code two
times a year instead of the once/year.
Roads. The road committee (Russ Simmons, Eileen
Jurand, Phil Whitson and Paul McWhirter) met with Jerry
Gentle on Buckaroo and Mr. Gentle agreed to take over
the extended driveway leading from Buckaroo Road and
West Ridge. However, prior to that, the committee and
board agreed to have the POA pay to put in a culvert to
divert the run off from West Ridge. Ed Harrison will
choose the optimal place to put the culvert. Approximate
cost is about $1,500.
It was also stated that culverts around Leatherwood need
to be cleaned and that handwork needs to be done around
them. It was recommended to work with some of these
other culverts instead of putting the money into the
second Meadow culvert at this time.
